Modeling and Simulation of Mine Hoisting Operations
Abstract
The two models of the hoisting operation presented, and based on SLAM II, can be used to model hoisting operations. The first one, a combination of network and continuous approach, is suitable for modeling of hoists with simple operating schedules. The discrete model may be used for modeling of hoists with more complex operating schedules and working over extended periods of time. Further validation of the described models is required to confirm its appropriateness for modeling of hoists other than automated friction hoists, and for hoists operating in conditions differing from those for which the model was verified so far.
