Abstract
A complex raise system managed by Battle Mountain Canada Ltd. serves as a main exhaust ventilation airway system for two mines, Golden Giant mine and David Bell mine. Increased exhaust airflow requirements associated with new orebody development at Golden Giant mine have necessitated a study to investigate the feasibility of expanding the exhaust raise system capacity while maintaining exhaust requirements at David Bell. This paper describes a complex ventilation study aimed at optimizing exhaust ventilation conditions for the raise system common to the two operating mines.
