Abstract
An oil shale industry will produce tremendous amounts of solid waste that must be disposed of by methods that are both environmentally safe and economically sound. A program of laboratory and field tests was conducted to determine the physical and chemical properties of retorted oil shale waste -- information needed for designing commercial-scale waste disposal systems.
