GPU Parallel Noise Filtering In LHASSO-WCDA
Abstract
High level of single noise rate is one of the difficult problems of the LHAASO-WCDA that leads to a stage of a GPU based noise filtering method. With NVIDIA CUDA technology this method use parallelization sky cells analysis to find the most possible direction. Through this process it could filter the noise in LHAASO-WCDA as well as compressed data volume. The test run separately in CPU and GPU serve shows: the program is ten times faster running at GPU serve than CPU serve. When this application turns mature and stable, the large computer cluster to be built at the LHAASO site could be replaced by a small scaled GPU-based computing facility and improve the real-time monitoring in LHAASO-WCDA.
