Abstract
Crystal size distribution analysis is being applied to the Carlton Rhyolite of the Wichita Mountains of southwestern Oklahoma. Field observations, descriptions, and sample collection has been completed. Rock samples were cut into slabs and then scanned. From these images the phenocrysts are outlined in CorelDrawl 1 and analyzed using Scion Image to obtain crystal size. Distribution analysis is done using CSD Corrections 1.36 (Higgins 2002). This, in combination with the visible phenocrysts, seems to indicate a flow style of deposition, rather than an airfall.
