Update on Hydraulic Drilling Performance
Abstract
High performance rock drills have been developed, using all-hydraulics for both the hammer and rotation, that have many advantages over the conventional pneumatir systems. The paper reviews recent developments and discusses the characteristics of products on the market; specific advantages of the all-hydraulic drilling systems; data from the applications of these drilling systems. Included are discussions of advantages and disadvantages of hydraulic drills, application results, and machine reliability.
