Design of a Flexible Fixture for Flexible Assembly. A Case Study
Abstract
Final results of the design of a flexible fixture for holding a family of products during performing of automated assembly by a robot are presented in this paper. To meet the goal, a product family from commercially available products of a wide nature was composed and redesigned for automated assembly. Also, a generic product, having all the attributes of normally required assembly features was developed. The flexible fixture is then designed based on the selection of the product family.
