Reattachment Length and Circulation Regions Downstream of a Two-Dimensional Single Backward Facing Step.
Abstract
Describes research in which a laser-Doppler anemometer was employed to quantitatively define the variation of separation length with Reynolds number and to obtain detailed information on the velocity profiles downstream of the step. The paper also presents preliminary numerical predictions of the reattachment point for this flow in the laminar region which are compared with experimental results. Good agreement is obtained between experimental and theoretical results. (from paper)
