Abstract
"Phosphate glass compositions were evaluated in this work. The general compositions were P2O5-Al2O3-Fe2O3-CuO-PbO-ZnO-Li2O and P2O5-V2O5-Al2O3-B2O3-PbO-Li2O-Na2O. These glasses were investigated for the purpose of identifying phosphate glasses whose thermal expansion, dilatometer softening temperature and chemical durability are suitable for sealing to medium expansion (α=110-125x10-7/°C) and low expansion materials (α=80-90x10-7/°C). Potential compositions has been identified for commercial application. The effect of different additives such as Al2O3, B2O3, PbO, ZnO, alkaline earth and transition oxides on the properties of phosphate glasses were also investigated"--Abstract, page 1.
