Abstract

"Batch flotation tests on Utah Copper ore were used to show the effect of collector cation size.

The results obtained were:

(1) Recovery of copper in the concentrate decreases with increase in the size of the collector cation.

(2) Increased recovery with ethyl over that for amyl with a given cation.

(3) No beneficial recovery with sulphur enriched xanthates.

Statistical techniques were used to ascertain if significant differences in results were present"--Abstract, p. i
