"In this thesis, educational materials to teach concepts in hardware-software co-design have been developed for an undergraduate laboratory course at University of Missouri-Rolla. A graphical user interface debugger for a VHDL model of the 8051 microcontroller was developed using Tcl/Tk procedures built into Modelsim."--Abstract, page iii.
