Mechanical devices for manually prestressing FRP and their applications in structural strengthening
Abstract
"The main objectives of this dissertation include two phases: I, development of two mechanical devices to manually prestress GFRP bars and CFRP sheets, respectively; II, investigation of the improved performance of URM walls strengthened with prestressed GFRP bars and RC beams strengthened with prestressed CFRP sheets. Theoretical analysis of the URM walls and the RC beams are presented as well"--Introduction, pages 6-7.
