Internet of Things: Current Trends and Emerging Prospects
Abstract
The prevalence of Internet of things (IoT) paradigm has seen the rise of many useful applications in the domains of healthcare, industries, smart city, and so on. However, the paradigm itself is in its dormant stages and still has many open-ended research challenges like interoperability, security and privacy, compliance, and standardization issues which need to be addressed. In this paper, we present a high-level discussion of the overall implications of the IoT paradigm with respect to different application areas and scenarios, domains, and technicalities that needs to be focused for effective incorporation of the IoT concept. Additionally, we also discuss briefly some of the future prospects that can improve the current trends of IoT frameworks.
