Designing and Testing on Improved Packaging for Large Hollow Chocolate Bunnies
Abstract
Packaging hollow chocolate Easter bunnies to arrive at the consumer in an unbroken condition is a challenge. The currently used white paperboard carton with elements to hold the bunny does not provide adequate protection during laboratory drop and vibration tests. Three prototype packages using plastic laminate or film to provide air cushioning with added improvements in the carton itself provide significantly better protection for the bunny. Application: Three packaging prototypes provide improved resistance for products requiring a high level of cushioning protection.
