A New Mode of Antiferromagnetic Interactions: Tris(pyrrolidyldithiocarbamato)iron(III)
Abstract
Spin delocalisation to a dithiocarbamate ligand, and consequent antiferromagnetic interaction, occurs in the d5 (t32g e2g) complex but not in the isomorphous d3 (t32g) complex; when these interactions are removed by dilution, a sextet-quartet equilibrium is apparent in the d 5 complex.
