Pyrometric cone equivalent (P.C.E.)

Abstract

"Softening temperature of ceramic materials vary with the rate of heating. Recently much discussion has centered about the proper rate of heating of cones in the P.C.E. test. The most obvious reason for the discussion is that the cones are affected by the rate of heating when tested alone for softening temperature"--Introduction, page 1.
