Origin Of -n In Greek 1 Pl. Act -men
Abstract
A solution is proposed here for a long-standing problem in IE. morphology, viz. the origin of -n in Greek 1 pl. act. -men: this -n can be plausibly derived from the *-m̥ (> -m after a vowel) that I have earlier reconstructed for Greek 1 pl. mid. (-metha < *-medhwm̥). © 1979, Copyright by Walter de Gruyter & Co.
