Abstract

"The metallurgic industries of South Missouri consist chiefly of iron, lead and zinc industries. These are widely distributed over the southern counties and in many localities the works are extensive, proving in many cases to be great sources of wealth. In the production of Iron the profit is small. Yet this industry, owing to a growing demand, is steadily increasing"--page 2.
