Two Photon Coincidence Studies of Resonant Transfer and Excitation of Hydrogen-like S Ions in Hydrogen
Abstract
We studied the process of resonant transfer and excitation of hydrogenlikc S projectiles in a hydrogen target by X ray-X ray coincidences. Information about the doubly excited intermediate state is obtained by analysing the sum energy spectra of the two time correlated X rays. This reveals a resonance behaviour of the cross sections for populating certain intermediate states as function of the projectile energy.
