Light Propagation in Dual-Periodic 1D Photonic Crystal
Abstract
We consider one dimensional photonic lattice with short-and long-range refractive index modulations. We demonstrate that these structures facilitate the formation of flat photonic bands. Slow-light applications and their experimental realizations will be discussed.
