Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present test results for the examination of mechanical fastener pull-out in plastic lumber. The testing was performed on both 1 Od galvanized steel nails, nominally 3" long and 0.148" in diameter, and No. 10 flathead low-carbon steel screws, nominally I" long. l "x6" Trimax plastic lumber, produced by US Plastic Lumber, was used for all testing. Tests were performed in each of the three sides of the boards. To evaluate the performance of the materials in varying conditions, testing was performed at -20°f, room temperature, and 125°f.
