Reclamation
Abstract
Good mine design and mining practice require that attention be paid to the postmining use of the land formerly used by a mine. In this section, reclamation is defined as those operations that prepare mined land for postmining use. Reclamation also includes those steps that stabilize mined land in an environmental sense. Hence, reclamation is integral to a total plan for erosion and sediment control.
