Chinese Mine Ventilation
Abstract
In 1993, more than 95% of China's total 1.115 billion metric tons of raw coal was mined underground using mainly longwall mining. China's coal deposits are deep, gassy, and varied with many complex mining conditions. As a result of this challenging geology, engineers over the years have developed many unique and sophisticated methods to ventilate China's expanding underground coal mines.
