Sappington Bridge: An Opportunity for Strengthening Research and Demolition Training
Abstract
The Sappington Bridge was demolished due to its advanced state of deterioration. University of Missouri - Rolla (UMR) helped the county reduce the costs of demolition by contributing matching Federal funding through the University Transportation Center. All scrap had been removed from the bridge site, and divers checked the river channel for damage and for hazards to river travel.
