Mining Education in Australia: A Vision for the Future

Abstract

This paper describes current status of mining engineering education in Australia. It then proceeds to outline the vision for the future as outlined by its various stakeholders. The recommendations of the Review of Engineering Report prepared by the Institution of Engineers, Australia, are outlined in some detail as are the recommendations of the Mineral Council of Australia presented in the recent Back from the Brink report.This paper describes current status of mining engineering education in Australia.
