Development of a Steep Angle Conveyor for Surface Mining Applications

Abstract
The steep angle conveying concepts are analyzed with the purpose of modifying them for open pit mining applications. A pilot test rig suitable to transport blocky ore in hard rock mining is designed, constructed and tested. The test results will reveal the operating parameters and provide guidelines for industrial scale installation of steep angle conveyors.
