Development of a 20-Inch Indirect Fired Fluidized Bed Gasifier
Abstract
The production of medium BTU gas from biomass material has received considerable attention during the last several years. the paper presents the development and testing of 20-inch indirect gas-fired fluidized bed gasifier. Superheated steam is used as the fluidizing medium to produce medium BTU gas. the effects of temperature, steam-to-wood ratio, and the location of the feed point are discussed. the concepts to develop commercial scale unit and the design features are also included.
