Evaluation of Turbulence Closure Scheme for Stratified Two Phase Flow
Abstract
Three turbulence closure schemes: standard k-ε, RNG k-ε and RSM models have been studied and evaluated for stratified two-phase flows. the flow was modeled using the VOF multiphase model. Four case studies were used to evaluate the turbulence schemes. the first three consisted of a straight channel and have been modeled as two-dimensional problems, the fourth is a three-dimensional meandering channel flow. the results have been compared with available experimental data. All the cases were studied using the commercial CFD package FLUENT.
