Large Amplitude Beam Equations of Motion Including Base Rotation and Translation
Abstract
The dynamics and control of light, flexible structures capable of exhibiting low frequency motion form an important class of problems because of applications in large space structures, robotics, and helicopter rotor blades, to mention a few. Such systems may undergo large amplitude vibrations while still behaving elastically. Thus, in order to understand the dynamics of these systems, the geometric nonlinearities arising from large transverse motion must be taken into account in the system model.
