Transmission of Sound in Ducts with Thin Shear Layers -- Convergence to the Uniform Flow Case
Abstract
A theoretical treatment is made, using an inner expansion method, of the problem of transmission of sound in a duct having very thin shear layers at the walls. For the limiting case of vanishingly thin layer, the problem coalesces to the uniform case with particle displacement continuity.
