Theoretical and Experimental Analysis of Cantilever Folded Plate
Abstract
In the method described the in-plane load and the elastic curve of the beam action analysis are expressed in terms of beam functions which satisfy the boundary conditions. The arbitrary plate rotations, which are applied to determine the effect of actual plate rotations, the corresponding transverse bending moments and fold line reactions are also assumed to vary along the span as the elastic curve varies due to the applied load. The actual plate rotations are determined from the compatibility of fold line displacement. The method has been applied to an aluminum model cantilever folded plate.
