Photoelastic Analysis of Pyramidal Hipped Plate Structure

Abstract

The stresses in a thin walled pyramidal hipped plate structure are investigated using stress freezing technique and photoelasticity. The in-plane and bending stresses in the individual wall panel have been obtained for three different support conditions. It is shown that the in-plane stresses in a wall of the pyramidal structure can be obtained by considering a single wall independently.
