Mueller Matrix Representing Back - Scattering: A Progress Report
Abstract
A progress report is presented describing the data reduction of measurements of the effects of backscattering upon polarization of a beam incident upon a scattering volume. The results are presented in the form of Mueller matricies which characterizes the effects of the particle sizes considered: 0.11 µm, 0.222 µm and 0.36 µm. Other parameters effecting the matrix elements are optical depth ([optical depth] = 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 5.0), azmuth angle and radial position. These preliminary results are categorized for all 16 elements of the Mueller Matrix. © 2000 by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Inc. All rights reserved.
