Dynamics of Three-Dimensional Multi-Body Systems with Elastic Components
Abstract
In the mechanical assembling process, sometimes component elastic deformation is involved. To be able to effectively model general behavior of the mechanical assembling process, a more generic formulation of governing equations which includes dynamics of multi-body systems with both changing topologies and elastic deformation is necessary. Presented in this paper is the derivation of the general system governing equations, and a prototyped example to apply these equations to implement an automated computer simulation of a snap fit assembly.
