Study on the Role Played by the Mineral Constituents During Grinding Operation of Coal by Hardgrove Machine
Abstract
An increase in the Hardgrove Grindability Index (H. G. I. ) of some low-rank, fresh coals was found to be due to the presence of shale with a high H. G. I. whereas the lowering of H. G. I. in some high-rank coals from its normal value was found to be due to coal-shale inter-grown materials or shales with a low H. G. I. present in the sample in an appreciable amount.
