Density Changes on Cooling and Heating of Selected Pb-Sn Alloys during the Precipitation and Dissolution of the Β-Sn Phase
Abstract
The effect of ramp cooling and ramp heating on the density of Pb-Sn alloys is investigated. These alloys contains 4, 8, 15, and 20 at.%Sn. The effect is measured in the temperature range between 190 °C and ambient. Results show that the precipitation and dissolution of β-Sn and the ramp rate has a significant effect on the density of the alloys as a function of temperature.
