Impact of ABET on Curriculum Content and Academic Standards
Abstract
Concrete evidence of the impact of the current ABET focus on enhancement of interpersonal and communications skills and an awareness of workplace style and challenges is presented in the form of major modifications to the program in ceramic engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla. These include four new courses and revisions of several others in the ABET direction as well as increased promotion of cooperative education, summer industry intern experience, and expanded undergraduate research experience.
