The Vacancy Migration Energy In Aluminium-copper Alloys

Abstract

Two different equations have been used to calculate the effect of copper on the migration energy for vacancies in aluminium alloys. The calculated value has been compared with experimental data obtained from resistivity measurements. The agreement between one calculated value and the experimental data is as good as the different value of assumed quantities permit. The other calculated values are substantially higher because of an assumed value for the quenching rate, which was too high for real quenching experiments. © 1982 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
