SINTERING OF LiF FLUXED SrTiO3.
Abstract
The densification of SrTiO//3 using LiF as a sintering aid was investigated. In the temperature range 700 to 900 degree C, the sintering kinetics of 1/2 to 2w% LiF doped SrTiO//3 appears to be controlled by liquid phase sintering. Densification was found to be a function of cation stoichiometry and temperature as well as LiF content. The interaction between LiF and SrTiO//3 is very complex and both X-ray diffraction and weight loss measurements suggest that it might involve the formation of Li and F containing compounds.
