Investigation on MgO·AI₂O₃-Based Inclusions in Steels
Abstract
MgO?Al2O3-based inclusions in alloy steel during the refining process were analyzed. Three kinds of inclusions were observed, and formation mechanisms were proposed. The influence of slag basicity andpressure of the refining furnace on magnesium content during vacuum treatment were studied by thermodynamic calculations. The results show that magnesium content increases with the increase of slag basicity and aluminum content in molten steel, and decreases with increasing CO partial pressure.
