Precipitation in Ferromagnetic Shape Memory Alloy
Abstract
Fe-Ni-Co-Ti alloys have been concerned as a potential magnetically induced shape memory alloy (MISMA) with high output power and low cost. Thin plate martensite with twin substructure, which is the key to get MISME, can be preserved at room temperature only after appropriate heat treatment in a certain composition range. Precipitation transformation in Fe-Ni-Co-Ti alloy was investigated by means of electrical resistivity and stress relaxation methods in this paper. Kinetics of precipitation was also discussed with JMA Equation.
