Boehmite-Bonded High Alumina Refractories
Abstract
The objective of the present study was to investigate the feasibility of producing boehmite-bonded, high alumina refractories. The optimum autoclaving conditions, saturated steam pressure, and exposure time were determined within assumed technological and economical limits. The mechanical and thermal properties of these high alumina refractories containing no bond agent other than boehmite were measured and related to the autoclaving conditions.
