Characterizations of Some Classes of Dendrites with a Closed Set of End Points
Abstract
Let X be a dendrite with a closed set of end points. We show that the Cantor-Bendixson rank of the set of end points of X is greater than some ordinal alpha precisely when X contains a particular dendrite M(alpha). We also show that this rank cannot be increased when taking subdendrites or under certain classes of mappings.
