Texture measurement of semitranslucent areas in basal cell carcinoma
Abstract
"Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) is a common form of skin cancer which needs to be detected in an early stage in order to be cured. Semitranslucency is a key feature in diagnosing BCC. Software was developed to measure texture features in dermoscopy images of skin lesions with the hope that eventually semitranslucency areas can be automatically segmented from dermoscopy images based on these or similar texture measures"--Abstract, page iii.
