Abstract
"It was the purpose of this work to investigate the possibilities of developing an extraction process which would remove practically all of the iron from bauxites at an economical cost without extracting much alumina. Such a process may also apply to high iron clays and related materials, and the possibilities of an extraction process for such minerals was included within the scope of the problem"--Introduction, page 2.
