Abstract
"Dwindling fossil resources and adverse environmental effects of fossil fuels are impedes for development of alternative sources of energy, industrial oils and plastics. Biogenic oil esters have drawn considerable attention as alternative fuels due to similar characteristics as the petroleum oils. Therefore, biogenic esters should be suitable for a number of diverse industrial applications such as lubricating oils, insulating liquids, resins, composite materials etc. To assess applicability of esters for such diverse uses it is important to determine their physiochemical properties The first part of the thesis deals with the synthesis and characterization of various biogenic oil esters..The second part of the thesis deals with the assessment of relative antioxidant activities of selected antioxidants in different biogenic oil esters"--Abstract, page iii.
