Abstract
"A method is presented for finding the effect of a nonlinear characteristic of a device on a wave which is frequency modulated by only one sinusoidal modulating wave. The distortion in the output has been found by passing a frequency-modulated wave (which is represented by a summation expression for the spectrum components) through a non-linear circuit having a Fourier series represention of its Characteristic. Two cases have been considered: (1) a nonlinear output-input characteristic, and (2) a non-linear amplitude-frequency characteristic"--Abstract, page ii.
