Abstract
"In this investigation, an experimental study was performed on a journal bearing under laminar and turbulent flow conditions. Using relationships for friction factor developed previously by other investigators a comparison was made with results of this present investigation. Since the flow changes from laminar to turbulent with a change in speed of rotation, curves for friction factor as a function of speed were plotted. Various attempts to make the recording and measuring systems more sensitive were also made and are discussed in this thesis"--Abstract, page ii.
