Seismic evaluation of bent cap-column joints in Missouri
Abstract
"A research program was initiated at the University of Missouri Rolla (UMR) to: 1) investigate the susceptibility of typical bridge bents in the state of Missouri to seismically induced damage; and 2) propose a retrofit scheme using carbon fiber-reinforced polymers (CFRP) to repair and/or prevent damage. Several existing bridges were analyzed for possible performance levels in the column, bent caps, and joints"--Abstract, page iii.
