Abstract
"Integration of Energy storage system with FACTS provides better flexibility and control. This thesis builds a common benchmark multi-machine test system with which to test various energy storage systems for their performance and choice. In this thesis battery energy storage is integrated with static synchronous compensator (StatCom). The StatCom when integrated with Battery Energy Storage helps to improve the system performance in damping the power oscillations when compared to StatCom alone"--Abstract, page iii.
